Information for candidates
The following documents must be submitted into the information system via E-application:
- admission to the doctoral degree programme “Fire Protection and Industrial Safety” is conditional on completion of the (follow-up) Master’s degree programme “Fire Protection and Industrial Safety, Safety Engineering and Safety Planning” or another related (follow-up) Master’s degree programme (in the Czech Republic or abroad), and successful completion of the admission procedure (including the interview);
- a copy of the university diploma attesting to the completion of the (follow-up) Master’s degree programme;
- a copy of the “Diploma Supplement” (possibly the Final State Examination Certificate);
- a structured CV;
- a list of published works and other results of professional and creative activities;
- a language certificate. The applicant is obliged to prove the ability to study in the chosen language. In case of studying in the Czech language, it is sufficient to prove the university education completed in the Czech or Slovak language, otherwise the applicant must provide a certificate proving knowledge of the Czech language at the B2 level (see Czech language exam for foreigners B1, B2). In case of studying in English, it is sufficient to prove university education completed in English language, otherwise the applicant must provide a certificate proving knowledge of English at the B1 level (e.g., TOEFL or IELTS).
Candidates from abroad, except for candidates from Slovakia, must submit the following documents together with the E-application for study:
- a copy of the translation of the diploma in Czech or English if the original is in another language;
- documents for the Recognition of foreign education (see Recognition of foreign education) in paper form to the address: VŠB-TUO, Study department FBI, 17. listopadu 2172/15, 708 33 Ostrava – Poruba. No later than 30 days before the deadline for delivery of attachments to the electronic application. After this deadline, the university does not guarantee a timely assessment of previous education.
